Dr. James A. Gray joined Oral Surgery of Tidewater in 2014 with extensive and comprehensive training. After completing his bachelor’s degree in chemistry at Virginia Commonwealth University, he obtained his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. He completed his residency training for oral and maxillofacial surgery at Harlem Hospital, in affiliation with Columbia University in New York.
After completing his residency and with a special interest in dentofacial deformities, Dr. Gray pursued a surgical fellowship in orthognathic surgery. He was given the special privilege of working under the direction of world-renowned surgeon Dr. Jeffrey C. Posnick as an orthognathic surgical fellow at the Posnick Center for Facial Plastic Surgery in Chevy Chase, Maryland, with clinical privileges at Georgetown University Hospital.
Dr. Gray’s surgical focus includes full-scope oral and facial surgery with particular interest in jaw corrective surgery, dental implants, and advanced grafting for dental implants.
Dr. Gray has also been published in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is committed to providing his patients with the utmost care while utilizing the latest technology.
When he’s away from the office, Dr. Gray enjoys travel, art, music, reading, and singing. He also enjoys weight training and spending time with family and friends.
